Safe Chatting Tips.

1. Do not give out any personal information.
If someone should ask for your phone number, address, school name, etc. do not answer! You also should not give out your email address. Parents are encouraged to check their children's emails for inappropriate content, no matter which email service is utilized.

2. You have the right to say NO!
Anytime you feel uncomfortable chatting with someone, you can either end the chat, or tell the person you do not talk about certain things. You always have the right to log out of the chat.

3. Do NOT arrange to meet anyone from a chat room.
Never take a chance on your safety. If anyone attempts to arrange a meeting with you, tell your parents immediately. They can contact the local authorities for further instructions.

4. Online predators often look for kids that do not have a lot of friends.
They usually masquerade as another kid in order to get you to talk with them. They may attempt to become your friend by telling you that they understand all your problems and want to help you.
